The Technology Department is encouraging all staff members to take part in a training on Internet safety. The department has purchased a Gold subscription to the i-SAFE training, which features a slew of information on web use and how users can be safe.
To entice staff members to go through the online-based program, 10 PDPs are being offered for those who complete the program and those who get certified by April 1, will be entered into a raffle to receive an Apple iPad, Apple iTouch, Lenovo notebook and more. Click here for more information about the raffle.
The training is completely web-based and self-paced. Participants can go through the videos at their convenience and can complete the entire process in about five to six hours. Upon completion, staff members get a certificate, which they turn in to the Tech Support office to receive their PDPs and get entered into the raffle.
Once certified, staff members will also have access to a host of instructional activities that can be used in the classroom. This is a great way to integrate technology into lessons and at the same time, help students become aware of the many important safety issues concerning Internet use.
