If you've been by the IMC recently, you've seen some pretty big changes taking place. Some walls have been completed and three new labs are in place. Unfortunately, for the time being, two of those are being used by Journalism and Ed Davis, while further construction continues. That leaves us with one lab that can be used. The Health & Phys. Ed. Dept. has been contacted about its availability since they do not have a lab of their own but others can sign up as well by contacting Kim Lavoie in the IMC.
Soon, FRED-TV will be expanding into Ed Davis' old room and Journalism will be returning to its home in the corner of the IMC. That will leave us two labs available for use. Also, there will be another lab added in the rear of the IMC. Currently, the expected timeline for that construction is for the summer.
These labs will open up opportunities for teachers to really diversify their instruction. I am hoping that teachers will take this opportunity to enhance their instructional methods by adding activities that are far more engaging than traditional instruction. I have a slew of ideas of how teachers can do this and I am looking forward to helping those who are willing to make the leap into 21st century instruction. Contact me any time to get started!
