Principal Marshall and I recently sat down with Carol Doherty of Northeastern University regarding the creation of online course for Durfee's students. This process has already been started at RPS and at least for now, we'll be modeling our program after theirs. This is a great opportunity to better meet the needs of a wide range of students, from homebound to those needing remediation to those who are advanced and ready to move to the next level.
We'll be looking for staff members to jump on board for this initiative. In the near future, there'll be some informational sessions, with graduate level or professional development courses being offered during our second semester. If all goes well, we could go live with courses in the fall of 2011. If you're interested in being a part of this exciting process, speak to your dept. head and join the effort!
