Google Apps Tools - Offline Access

With Durfee expanding its use of Google Apps, I will be providing some tools and tricks to both help ease the transition and get the most out of its use.

In this post, I will discuss setting up your Google Drive for offline access. This will allow you access to your files in the case the Internet goes down. Any changes you make while offline will sync once the Internet is restored. This is to be done using the Chrome browser.

Important: Only turn on offline access on computers that you use regularly.
  1. On a Chrome browser, go to drive.google.com.
  2. In the top right, click the Settings icon
  3. Choose Settings.
  4. Check the box next to "Sync Google Docs, Sheets, Slides and Drawings files to this computer so that you can edit offline." To disable offline access, uncheck the box.
